Confirmed Xbox One Games Supporting HDR
Microsoft's stepping-stone between the original Xbox One and their fancier Xbox One 'Project Scorpio' is the Xbox One S and it 'upconverts' games to 4K and supports HDR.
What the heck is an HDR? It stands for 'High Dynamic Range' and it gives a greater dynamic range of luminosity in imaging than otherwise reproduced. It basically allows for images that show very bright and direct sunlight to extreme shade, like in real-life, without losing much detail.
To enjoy HDR (HDR10) from videos or games you'll need a 4K TV as otherwise you won't see any difference.
All Xbox One games by default will support the slightly improved Xbox One S but that doesn't mean it can take full advantage of the new features without some title updates. Xbox's Aaron Greenberg has said many more will be getting HDR support as time goes on with all the latest Microsoft-published games already prepared.
