Everything We Know About PlayStation VR
Sony is poised to launch their offensive in the virtual reality wars that loom on the horizon with the PlayStation VR, powered by the PlayStation 4. What do we know of their plans?
Launch Date And What's In The Box
The PlayStation VR will be releasing to the worldwide masses October 13th, 2016.
"From the moment you slip on PlayStation VR, the new Virtual Reality system for PlayStation 4, you’ll experience games in an entirely new way. You’ll be at the centre of the action, living every detail of extraordinary new worlds – and you’ll feel like you’re actually inside the game."
Included when you buy a PlayStation VR is the headset itself, a processor unit that plugs into the PlayStation 4 console, stereo earbuds, a HDMI and USB cable, an AC adaptor and power cord, and the PS VR headset connection adaptor.
How Much Does It Cost?
The PlayStation VR is going to be one of the cheapest virtual reality headsets available on the market for what it can achieve. However the caveat is you must already own a PlayStation 4 console as otherwise your initial buy in for VR is going to cost you.
"Just plug in and play. PS VR is powered by PlayStation 4, so you can simply connect the two and step into new experiences in seconds."
You must also have a PlayStation Camera V2 which is used to track the PlayStation VR headset, as well as any connected Move controllers (not required).
The price points for the PlayStation VR are USD $400, €400 and £350.
Where Can You Pre-Order From?
